What is the length of a guard column?
Guard columns are shorter than analytical columns, usually measuring between 10 to 50 mm in length. Their compact size is designed to effectively protect the main column without affecting the chromatographic separation process.
Where is the guard column position?
The guard column is positioned between the injector and the analytical column in a chromatography system. This strategic placement ensures that contaminants are removed before they can damage the analytical column.
